As the second generation of a firm founded by Alexander Kouzmanoff in 1965, Jan Kouzmanoff has three decades of experience in the practice of architecture.
In addition to working on projects for colleges and universities, Jan had central or leading roles in the design and production of documents for diverse projects such as a theatre at SUNY Old Westbury, the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, a 150,000sq.ft. carpet factory in Flushing, Queens, and a twelve story mixed use apartment building in White Plains.
Jan's multi-faceted background in architectural practice includes five years as a partner responsible for high-end commercial office interiors in midtown high rises, for clients such as Societe Generale de Banque, Credit du Nord, and Conde Nast magazine.Jan is attentive to the needs of a project as communicated by the client and brings to the team a capacity for abstract thinking and marshalling decisions around central design ideas.
