Ken Bainton brings to the partnership a passion for understanding how building systems work. His approach is hands on, which lends itself to working closely with construction management teams. Responsible for construction administration for the 112,000 sq.ft. SUNY Stonybrook Field House, Ken acquired experience with large scale steel and concrete construction, as well as introduction to the special requirements of large athletic facilities. Ken has worked on institutional projects over a period of 25 years beginning with the library extension at SUNY purchase for the SUCF in 1984. Ken has performed construction management roles for Manhattan renovation projects, recently completing 535 8th Ave, a twenty story, 115,000 sq.ft. manufacturing loft. These projects were followed by large multi-phased renovations at University Hall for Columbia University, Queens Borough Hall in Kew Gardens, and Keating Hall at Fordham University’s Rose Hill Campus. Ken also won the award for Design of Master Plan for the 60th st Railyards Development, National Endowment for the Arts,New York,NY in 1982.
